Emilie Conter, the youngest daughter of Stephan Conter, founder of Stephex Stables, has been immersed in the equestrian world from a young age. She began her riding career in pony competitions before swiftly advancing to horse events. Today, Emilie competes successfully in international showjumping events ranging from CSI2* to CSI5* levels.
Emilie’s contributions to the Belgian National Team have been significant. In 2014, she represented Belgium at the European Championships for Children, securing a team silver medal. Her upward trajectory continued in 2016 when she was part of the team gold at the European Championships for Juniors in Millstreet, Ireland. Culminating her youth career, Emilie achieved team gold and individual bronze in the Young Riders division at the 2021 European Championships in Vilamoura, Portugal.
Transitioning seamlessly into senior-level competitions, Emilie has demonstrated her progress on the international circuit. In February 2023, she clinched victory in the CSI2* Griffis Residential 1.45m at the Winter Equestrian Festival in Wellington, Florida, riding Clochard. Continuing her success, in February 2024, Emilie secured first and second places in the 1.40m Speed CSI3* at the World Equestrian Center in Ocala, Florida, with Portobella Van De Fruitkorf and Cilanto XC Z.
Emilie’s dedication to the sport is further exemplified by her active participation in the business side of equestrianism, involving herself in the buying and selling of horses for Stephex Stables. Her commitment to continuous improvement and her strategic approach to both competition and business underscore her status as a rising talent in international showjumping.
